What is a spinal adjustment?
A spinal adjustment refers to the process of manipulating the spine in order to bring the body back into its proper alignment. Also known as a chiropractic adjustment, as the procedure should only be performed by an experienced chiropractor, spinal adjustment requires a chiropractor to use their hands or specially made instruments to provide a force to the spinal joint. Correct spinal alignment is necessary for the body to properly function, as it helps increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability and improve the body’s overall ability to function physically.
There are many different signs and symptoms that someone can experience that can warrant a trip to a chiropractor's office for a series of spinal adjustments, with the following list including the most common. Some patients may need only three or four adjustments, while others may need 10 to 12.
Spinal adjustments utilize touch therapy.
